When BMW released the F80 M3 and F82 M4 engine specifications, we immediately knew that the power gains the tuning companies could achieve will be impressive. We have so far seen several tuning projects that managed to raise the standard 425 horsepower to over 500 ponies and in some cases, even more.
Today, we have another interesting project completed by European Auto Source who managed to give this Black Sapphire BMW M4 a power boost and some aero parts.
The power gains can be easily achieved with electronic upgrades done at the shop. With the last generation M3, the owner had to install a costly and labor intensive supercharged kit for any real power gains. Now, it’s utterly simple.
The BMW M4 is powered by a 3.0-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbo engine developing 425 horsepower. This engine combines two mono-scroll turbochargers with variable valve control (Double-VANOS and Valvetronic) and high-precision direct injection for a smooth and efficient power delivery, coupled with the standard 6-speed manual transmission.
The brand new Black Sapphire M4 came to EAS’ facility to get the latest ESS E-Tronic tuner installed. Having extensive experience in tuning and supercharging BMWs, ESS created this simple pre-calibrated, plug ‘n play solution that instantly adds 50-60 hp and 50-60tq at the wheels! With this system, it literally means plug&play as this is installed in mere hours with some careful work done under the hood of the vehicle.
When the performance modification was done, the M4 was lowered with a set of H&R lowering springs and then, the Macht Schnell spacers were installed to provide a better exterior appearance. The wheels now sit snug to the fenders and fitment is on the spot.
Furthermore, EAS installed the iND painted side reflectors and BMW gloss black kidney grilles, completing the project. For further media of this build, please check the gallery we’ve added right below.
