If the current BMW M850i xDrive Coupe is anything to go by, the upcoming BMW M8 models will be incredibly fast. The M850i is already faster than advertised and really has some people wondering just how bonkers the M8 could be in that case. As we all know, the M letter will be attributed to three body styles: Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe. Since all of them will be technically identical under the sheet metal, the differences lie in the design.

The M8 Gran Coupe was spotted recently on the Nurburgring as the video below shows. The four-door coupe is expected to be launched in ‘standard’ guise later this year with the M model coming in 2020, and there’s a lot going for it judging by how good the Concept looks like. The 8 Series Coupe is already a stunner so, just like it was the case with the 6 Series Gran Coupe before it, we’re expecting the four-door version to be similarly beautiful.

As far as we know from BMW right now, the M8 will share its engine with the F90 M5. That means it will be the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 but with slightly more power. The M8 will have around 625 HP, according to sources, while the Competition models are expected to have even more. All models will come with all-wheel drive and are expected to feature the same intelligent system that allows you to turn your M8 into a rear-wheel tire shredder.

By the looks of things, this particular M8 Gran Coupe is blazing fast on the Nurburgring straight. It also shows little body roll in the corners which is definitely a good sign. You can also spot an Audi RS6 Avant testing with it, the Ingolstadt machine sounding really good too on the straight.
