The new BMW X6 is slated to enter production at the Spartanburg plant in August 2019. The car will then reach dealers worldwide (as all X6 models will be made in South Carolina) around November, a time when a lot of them will already have been purchased. BMW is going to offer for the new Sports Activity Coupe starting off at $64,300.

The G06 X6 has obviously been built to be faster and more agile on the roads than ever before. Check out the specs and you’ll immediately notice it sits lower than before and is wider, both good starting points for better dynamics. The X6 will also be offered in RWD guise, a bold move from BMW, especially for an SUV this size. The sDrive40i model will come with the ubiquitous B58 3-liter straight six engine under the hood, good for 335 HP and all of that will be going to the rear wheels for a starting price of $64,300, without handling and shipping.

Of course, other versions will also be available. There’s an xDrive40i model to get, with all-wheel drive, as well as a V8 choice. The new X6 M50i will benefit from the same twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 used on other M50i cars in the range today, with 523 HP and 553 lb-ft of torque. Sending power to all four corners of the car, this thing will do 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.3 seconds, too damn close for comfort to the F96 X6 M.

Standard kit for all cars includes 20″ wheels, Live Cockpit Professional with iDrive 7, Active Driving Assistant, Active Blind-spot detection, Frontal Collision Warning with City Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning, Park Distance Control, Comfort Access Keyless Entry, Rear View Camera, panoramic moonroof, privacy glass and Adaptive LED light among others. The M50i version also comes with an M Sport exhaust, M Sport brakes, a differential and Adaptive M suspension.
