The new BMW M4 will go head-to-head with the Audi RS5. Here is a photo comparison of the two super sporty cars.
Both cars promise great performance on the race track while both “behave” on the regular roads as well. At a first glance, there are a number of commonalities and similarities, such as the dimensions: just over two centimeters separate the two also a small difference in engine performance – only 19 hp between the counterparties.
But there are a series of major differences, starting with the all-wheel drive on the Audi RS5 while the M4 stays true to BMW’s rear-wheel drive architecture. The Audi RS5 also comes with a 4.2 liter V8 engine. The RS5’s engine makes 450 horsepower and 317 lb-ft.
Manual transmission or 7-speed DCT for the M4, no choice for the RS5 – 7-speed S tronic DCT.
In the weight department, the M4 is a clear winner. It has a DIN-balanced weight of 1497 kg (without driver and luggage), while the RS5 has a whopping 1715 kg weight.
The total of 218 kg higher weight also makes the RS5 slower than the M4. The Audi sprints to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds while the M4 with DCT runs the same distance in 4.1 seconds.
In Germany, the BMW M4 will sell for 72,200 euros while the Audi RS5 has a base price of 78,750 euros.
