Follow this categoryWe’re back with more videos of newly and already controversial BMW X5 M and X6 M models. For the past two days, we have been keeping you updated with official photos, wallpapers and more videos.
Now, we’re going to take you on a virtual ride along the race track at Ascari, Marbella in Spain. We have three new videos, including one featuring Marc Surer, a former Formula 1 driver, talking about the X6 M.
As it always happens, in the following days after launching a new product, BMW slowly releases marketing materials, including photos and videos.
Yesterday we have seen the first videos of the BMW X5 M and X6 M and today, new footage has been released, showing the two models in scenery.
Continuing the coverage of the new BMW X5 M and X6 M with the first videos showing the two cars in action. For some reason, the two Ms look far better in the videos than the official photos, but we’ll reserve judgment until we see them in person next week.
I won’t give out all the details from these videos, but….that engine sound is absolutely amazing, I can already tell how much power it can put out.
More videos after the jump
The RTL II Grip magazine had an exclusive opportunity to interview the test drivers of the upcoming BMW X5 M and X6 M models. The prototype vehicles are undergoing winter testing in the beautiful Scandinavian Peninsula. Unfortunately, the video is in German and there is no translation, but I still believe you will enjoy the new footage.
The RTL folks talk about the BMW X5 M and X6 M as having over 550 horsepower, running from 0 to 60 mph in under 5 seconds and the base price to be set above the 100,000 euro mark.
With the official launch date set for April 4th, we will definitely receive more information in the next couple of weeks and most likely, the first official photos and information.

I have just come across some videos that were circulating the web back in 2006. One of them, it was a demo of a BMW using the Auto Park feature and doing a perfect parallel parking in an urban environment. Even though this is not news, I figured some of you might have not seen them back then and it would be interesting to take a look at them.
BMW’s Auto Parking system scans the space between cars before automatically doing the parking for you.
The second videos is about BMW’s Remote Park Assist, a new technology developed by BMW for cars to park themselves into garages automatically, and all without the assistance of a driver. All the process is handled through a remote-controlled system.
Since most of you seem to enjoy our car comparisons, I decided to throw one more at you and today, courtesy of 4RingBlog, I have a racing video of the BMW M3 against Audi’s TT, Evo X, Mercedes SL63 AMG and of course, the Lexus IS-F.
The video was taken at the Tsukuba circuit in Japan and I encourage you to watch it until the end, lots of drifting and amazing driving skills.
Oh, one little thing I forgot to mention: it’s all in Japanese, but I’m sure that you, as true car fans, will look past that and just enjoy it.
In the past few months, the 2011 BMW 5 Series subject has been covered by us through multiple spy photos, leaked photos and computer generated images. But what we really didn’t have to show were some spy videos.
Thanks to the folks at CarMagazine, we have an interesting video for you today. The 2011 BMW 5 Series Sedan and Wagon were filmed during a test drive session in snow. And what’s really interesting about this video is not the fact that the next 5 Series models were spotted, but rather to see the type of testing that these test mules go through.
But enough with the details, I don’t want to spoil this great video!
P.S. After watching the video, it really makes me wonder if this was a “planned” spy video, typical of BMW to release this type of footage on the web in order to create some buz.
Chris Bangle is getting a lot of press these days, not just from us, but from all the big media corporations, offline and online. We have covered his resignation pretty intensively and we promise, we won’t talk about that anymore.
Instead, let’s focus a little bit on the “person” Chris Bangle, his passion for design, enthusiasm to present new concepts or recently released models. As someone of you might know, Mr. Bangle has always said that GINA Concept holds a special place for him and you will see that in the video below.
Chris Bangle is very charismatic and he was the right “spokesperson” for BMW in the past years. His ability to deal very elegantly with all the criticism received, is to be admired. In the videos posted below , you will see Chris as being a huge fan of futuristic, extravagant and experimental styling, with a clear vision of modern and avant-garde approach.
This video will give you a great example of how he handles the “Bangle bashing” – Watch the video
It’s Super Bowl Sunday, the Steelers are already up on the Cardinals when it cuts to commercial and the viewer sees the following:
With the smash of a glass store front, Jason Statham appears, side steps some punk in time to jump into his late ’70s Mercedes sedan in time to see two disco thugs lumber into their Lincoln to give pursuit. After crashing the Merc, Statham sprints into about 1986 where he, dressed like a bald Don Johnson, car jacks the local tennis pro using his Zach-Morris-brick-cell-phone to no doubt call his girlfriend named Buffy. Next thing you know, we see Statham tuck and roll from the car and a beautiful Zinnobar Red E28 is flung through a billboard, Dukes of Hazzard/ Starsky and Hutch-style.
But don’t fret, the Driver(should I just call him the Transporter?) finds himself in the mid 1990’s in time to steal a Lexus ES to escape what looks to be a jacked up GMC. After realizing that only old people are driving that kind of implied boring car, Statham slides around a corner to find the new Audi A6 only to snag the keys and take off, finally escaping his pursuers.
Viral videos are the newest, latest and sometimes, best ideas in marketing. MINI jumped on this bandwagon and created a….quite interesting viral video.
It reminds me a bit of the MTV popular show, Jackass, but hey, whatever works. So, MINI found four crazy brave guys willing to go through the experiment of washing a MINI Cabriolet through a car-washing facility….oh, did I mention? With the TOP DOWN.
And if washing with the high-pressure jets wasn’t enough, then the drying process at the end should make you smile.
