Here isĀ a review that hasn’t been posted by us before, it was about time we would haveĀ some different comparisons and step out of the monotony. The Aussie fellows at TopGear decided to take the BMW 135i Coupe on a race track and put it against the 2009 Mitsubishi EVO 10. The 135i Coupe is powered by the award-winning 3.0 liter twin-turbo engine which develops 300 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque.
On the other hand, the Lancer EVO is powered by a 291 horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 engine and has the same amount of torque, 300 lb-ft. Both cars weigh around 3,500 lbs, with the 135i Coupe being slightly “skinnier”.
So, the specs are fairly close to each other, but let’ see how they handle on track.

funny video!
Good entertaining vid. But I had to see for myself, so, I hoped on to GT5 and drove both cars around the High Speed Ring in arcade time trial mode. BMW = 1,19.4 Evo = 1,20.6 Obviously on this track the BMW has the legs on the straights, but I did feel more confident through the corners in the EVO -it really just sits through the bends.
One up for GT5!
@Giom: I love GT5P
However, I believe they were using the short figure of 8 track at Oran Park, which is pretty different in character to GT’s High Speed Ring, I’d expect the 1-er to be quicker here, but surely on a tighter track, it might not fair so well. its a shame Autum Ring Mini isn’t in GT5P as that is very similar in style to Oran Parks short circuit.

Ya I wonder what BMW is gonna do with with M cars now regarding AWD. The X5M and X6M have it and on the track apparently it’s really really good, no under-steer, really good turn in and a feeling like cornering on rails. Audi does it, will BMW do it to the M3 or M5 eventually, now that they’ve got a bit of experience with a performance AWD??
Nice vid!
Nice video…I honestly think if the 135i had a LSD then it would have been even closer if not in the Bimmers favor…
