Take a look at this BMW X6, it basically breaks my heart. The car has not even been released yet and we already see a damaged one. Apparently the incident was caused by a deer during a test drive this past week. What strikes me though is that the fender seems to be made out of plastic?!
Update: Apparently, we are not the only ones that think the fender is made out of plastic. A member of Germancarzone seems to believe the same thing.

BMW has been using reinforced plastics since 2004 in the 6 series. This is nothing new. Trunk lids and such are also made of these materials. It saves weight (upwards of 40%) can be formed into intricate shapes and does not lessen the structural integrity of the car. Most manufacturers do the same things.
