The BMWBLOG team is out in California this week test driving a series of new and older BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce cars. From the new 3 Series to the 8 Series and Z4 Roadster, to classic MINIs and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, there is a little bit of everything to try out at the Thermal Club in Palm Springs.

One of the models that stood out in particular this week was a 2019 BMW Z4 sDrive30i painted in the flashy and striking Misano Blue. The color might sound familiar to some of you from the BMW X2 since Misano Blue was one of the launch colors.

The Z4 also features a number of options from BMW’s Individual program of exclusive colors and materials, including a Frozen Orange Metallic paint as seen on the Z4 First Edition. Other colors available for the Z4 are Alpine White, San Francisco Red, Mediterranean Blue Metallic, Mineral White Metallic, Glacier Silver Metallic and Black Sapphire Metallic.

The interior choices include both SensaTec and Vernasca leather with a special Vernasca/Alcantara upholstery available for M Sport vehicles. The soft-top roof comes in Black as standard and Anthracite with silver effect as an option.

The Z4 sDrive30i we drove is powered by a 255-horsepower, turbocharged four-cylinder that delivers 295 pounds-feet of torque and is coupled to an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel. The Z4 M40i gets you a turbocharged six-cylinder that delivers 382 hp and 369 pounds-feet of torque. No manual transmission is available.

In the US, the 2019 BMW Z4 sDrive30i Roadster will arrive in March of 2019, and the 2020 BMW Z4 M40i Roadster will follow a few months after.
