Last week, we saw the interior of the upcoming BMW X6 M in some new spy photos. It was the first time the public was able to see some of the interior design features of the X6 M and there were a few interesting surprises inside. For instance, the new shift lever and seat design had some fans quite excited. Now, though, some more spy photos have surfaced that show off the exterior of the new standard X6. (We don’t own the spy photos but they can be seen here)

This isn’t the first time we’re seeing the exterior of the BMW X6 but it’s always good to see it again. What’s interesting is that it will still get the same basic design language as the new BMW X5 but it seems to have its own personality. Its nose is a bit slimmer and sharper, rather than the more upright face of the X5. Its taillights also look similar but have obviously been modified to fit its sloping rear end.

Speaking of that sloping rear end, the roofline and rear end of this new X6 seem to be far smoother and less frumpy than the outgoing car. This seems to be the most elegant (if you can call it that) iteration of the BMW X6 we’ve seen thus far. While it’s still not necessarily pretty, it looks better looking than the current car. Though, the X6 was never really meant to be pretty, instead a bit brash and exciting.

We’re excited to see the BMW X6 in the flesh and get some time behind the wheel. The current BMW X5 is an extremely good SUV and possibly BMW’s best but if the X6 can be the same but with a bit more of a sporty edge, we’ll be very happy.
