The BMW M4 doesn’t normally compare to the Audi RS6 Avant. The two just don’t play in the same league no matter how you look at it. While one is a two-door coupe meant to spend more time on the track than on public roads, the other is a family hauler that will probably spend a lot of its time in school parking lots or around shopping malls. That doesn’t stop people from pitting one against the other though and when the two are tuned, things should get interesting, right?

In stock guise, things should be pretty clear. The rear-wheel drive BMW M4 comes with only 431 PS in stock guise and may have some problems putting it down when launching. Even with the DCT gearbox and Launch Control, you need to know what you’re doing. On the other hand, the Audi RS6 Avant comes with all-wheel drive and enough space inside for even five adults and their luggage.

On paper, the Audi is also faster despite weighing considerably more. The RS6 tips the scale at 1,935 kg (4,266 lbs) but then again, it has 560 HP and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal to put down a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds. That’s a bit faster than the M4. However, the race we have here isn’t between two stock cars and it isn’t done from a standstill either. This race is between two tuned vehicles, albeit one more than the other.

According to the uploader, the BMW now has 490 HP at its disposal and it’s going up against a 750 HP Audi tuned by the guys from DBR. That said, even though the RS6 is almost half a ton heavier than the Bimmer, the race should have a clear winner, right? Well, we can’t say it didn’t win but the battle was a lot closer than we expected.
