Some reports have been buzzing around in the news lately of alleged bribery by Rolls Royce PLC, the aircraft manufacturing company. However, there has been some reports that link Rolls Royce PLC with the Rolls Royce Motor Cars that we know and love. However, Rolls Royce Motor Cars has just issued a clarification statement, reminding everyone that these two companies are in no way involved with one another.
Rolls Royce recently issued this statement in regards to the misinformed reports: “Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is a completely separate company from Rolls-Royce PLC which manufactures power systems for aircraft, ships and land applications. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the BMW Group (Munich), based at Goodwood near Chichester in West Sussex, United Kingdom. It commenced business on 1 January 2003 at its new global production facility.”
So the Rolls we know and love from BMW is completely separate from the company that develops aircraft engines and is 100 percent a subsidiary of the BMW Group. The only manufacturing done by Rolls Royce Motor Cars is that of the Ghost, Dawn, Wraith, Phantom and soon to be Cullinan.
Being that we’re close with Rolls and always appreciate the help they provide by allowing us to sample their brilliant cars and get as much information as we need, we’d like to help the famous British brand get the word out. So if there’s been any confusion or wonder if your favorite luxury maker was involved in any alleged bribery, understand that these are two completely separate companies with no affiliation with each other whatsoever.
