This week’s Top Gear is filled with an hour of great cars. Among these, you will see a BMW i8 and a BMW M3, driven across some of the most beautiful scenery in United Kingdom and yes, tested on the Top Gear Test Track too. Last week Top Gear featured a BMW M6 Gran Coupe in the first episode of the new series, but this new episode will be a different featuring the M3 on the race track. With the last generation BMW M3 put to test on their track time, it will be interesting to see how it fairs against an exciting competition.

The i8 is the other bimmer which gets some airtime. “If you get busted for speeding in this car, you get a thank you letter from Greenpeace,” says Jeremy Clarkson.

The BMW i8 can go from 0–100 km/h (0 to 60 mph) in 4.4 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h (160 mph). The BMW i8 has a fuel efficiency of 2.1 L/100 km (134.5 mpg-imp; 112.0 mpg-US) under the NEDC test with carbon emissions of 49 g/km. Additionally with the BMW i8, EPA rated its combined fuel economy at 76 equivalent (MPG-equivalent) (3.1 L gasoline equivalent/100 km; 91 mpg-imp gasoline equivalent).

But is it fun to drive? We’ll find out in this episode.

On the other hand, the BMW F80 M3 is powered by a 3.0-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine developing 425 horsepower. A stock M3 will get from 0-60mph (0-100km/h) in 4.1 seconds. The car itself weighs a little bit over 3500 lbs with 18″ wheels standard.

This episode of Top Gear also features the Mercedes-Benz AMG-GT.

So, tune in at 10PM CET on Sunday since this should be an interesting episode of Top Gear. Oh, and it also features Will Smith and Margot Robbie. Here is a trailer:
