Buchloe-based automaker, Alpina, will introduce a new, updated version of the B5 Bi-Turbo model.

The super sporty B5 is based on the F10 5 Series and uses a tuned up V8 4.4 liter engine with two Honeywell-Garrett turbochargers that produces 540 horsepower and a maximum torque of 730 Nm.

This is 33 hp and 30 Nm higher than the Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo revealed last year.

The full power is reached at 5,200rpm and the maximum torque of 730Nm is available from 2,800 to 4,500rpm. The updated D5 BiTurbo runs to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds (0.2 seconds faster than previous model) and the top speed is reached at 320 km/h.

Interesting enough is the fact that the BMW F10 M5 produces 560 horsepower and 680 Nm of torque, and sprints to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds.

The 2012 Alpina B5 BiTurbo will be unveiled next month at the Geneva Motor Show.
