I was looking through the BMW news on World Car Fans and found their new artist rendering of what the new 5-Series could look like. What do you think?

There have been a good amount of spy shots of the new 2011 5-Series that is supposed to debut in 2010, or the F10 as it will also be known.

Personally, I don’t like it at all. I think it is too bland and doesn’t represent what BMW has been trying to accomplish. I kind of like the headlights and the big kidney grills, but the rest of the car leaves a lot to be desired. The design is based largely on the BMW CS Concept.

The new F10 5er will bring about the new 4.4L Twin-Turbo V8 for the 550i that debuted in the X6 xDrive50i. The Twin-Turbo V8 will put out roughly 400hp and 450lb-ft of torque. It will also be in the new F01/02 750. The 535d 3.0L diesel will hopefully make its way into the U.S. market as well with the new 5-Series. The rest of the engines are not likely to change. Expect to see a new powerplant in the M5, possibly featuring a better version of the standard Twin-Turbo V8 that will power the regular 550. Also expect to see the new M-DCT in the 5-Series as a whole.

  1. Ladies, Gentlemen… Fans of BMW’s. My name is Jason Doornick. I am an avid fan of most sport cars. I currently Drive a 2001 Audi All-road with Adjustable suspension. Irregular problems have occurred and has been a deterrent for me to get a new one. I am going/have been wanting to get a BMW. Everyone that I personally speak to about a BMW says it is every sport car drivers DREAM COME TRUE. But online, phone, forums, blogs… People put the BMW down a lot. Problems… Issues… repairs… i drive…. x drive. I very much like the spaciousness of the 2003-present 7 series. The 5 series, as well, attracts me just as much. The 7 serious is my top choice now because of room, MPG, robustness, and style. I want as much feedback as possible about anyone owning a 5 series or 7 series in this year range (2003-present). Hoping that I can get some positive or interesting feedback i will make my decision to move to BMW or to stick with Audi or Mercedes. I would be more than happy to give anyone feedback about Audis. I have learned so much about them as I have owned 3 of them and driven many through family and dealres. Thanks—~~~

The front looks fine but what the bloody hades is going on with that rear end??? Some nod to the X6?? The rear is AWFUL……

  3. Lawrence says:

I agree, the rear looks too plain but overall the body style is descent. Mayby with a little more curves and we have a car that looks better than Halle Berry! Lol!

I have bmw from 16 years ago… a lot of modell’s. for me is the best car of the world. I buy a new 5 when it will be availeble. I made 430 km all of Hungary East to West in 2 hours and 27 minutes with a 525 d… only 180 km from highway. Is not so expensive at service. We have in company also VW and is almoust the same price in service.
I will be forrever BMW fan!
