Early this week, BMW has announced that future generation of the 1 Series will get four-cylinder engines. The engines were developed together with the French company PSA and they have been used in the BMW's Mini brand.
A few weeks ago, a source close to BMW has revealed that a future four-cylinder twin-turbo engine is in works. The engine that will benefit from high revs and BMW's twin-turbo technology, might be used in the BMW 1 Series tii.
With all the new regulations imposed by the U.S Government, it is expected for BMW to bring the four-cylinder engines into the U.S in the near future. We already learned that a BMW 7 Series hydrogen based car will be launched next year as well.
