The painful waiting is over for BMW M aficionados. The high-performance, pure M iterations of the X5 and X6 are out as range-toppers in their respective lineup. We get a chance to see more of the BMW X6 M Competition thanks to the exclusive walk-around provided by Markus Flasch, CEO of BMW M GmbH.

The main point of attraction is the first-time ever choice of BMW Individual appointments for a BMW M high performance SAV/SAC. We are glad that this finally happened. After all, BMW Individual Manufaktur is integrated under the BMW M umbrella. And so, this was a logical move.

In the video posted on the BMW M Facebook channel, we are cherished to see the mighty X6 M Competition.

Standing in a BMW Individual Manufaktur lab as depicted by the inscription on the background wall, the F96 greets us dressed in the eye-catching Urban Green paint finish.

Inside, the F96 X6 M also boasts BMW Individual touches. The hardcore SAC receives the special Midrand Beige/Black leather upholstery with M-specific guilting and contrasting stitching.

The beefiness of the design is further enhanced by the M radiator grille with twin slats finished in high gloss black, characteristic for the Competition model.

The special M design for the 21” front/22” rear wheels further adds to the dramatic appearance of the X6 M Competition and also features polished black accents.

All in all, BMW M gave it all in this project and we can consider the new X5 M and X6 M models as being the best-to-date super SAVs/SACs they’ve ever developed.

As well, right now, both are pretty much in a class of their own. Rivals from Stuttgart or Ingolstadt are yet to reach market.

Expect the battle to get really interesting when the forthcoming Audi RS Q8 and Mercedes-Benz GLE 63/GLE 63 S contenders are out to play.
