Carwow has a decently sized fleet of long-term test cars. Mat Watson often shows off a lot of those cars but he mostly shows off the ones he drives the most. Currently, his main daily driver of the bunch is the BMW M850i xDrive. Rough life he has. However, it’s obviously not the only car in the test fleet, so Watson decided to run each of the fleet cars to 60 mph to see which is fastest.

Let’s start off by saying that the BMW M850i is the fastest. That’s not a big spoiler once you find out the sorts of cars it’s competing against. Not only is the M850i the most expensive car in the test by a huge margin, it’s also the most powerful.

Their fleet consists of cars like the SEAT Ateca Cupra, Audi Q3, Skoda Kodiaq and KIA ProCeed GT. So it’s not exactly tough competition for the BMW M850i, with its 4.4 liter twin-turbocharged V8 and 523 hp. Still, it’s interesting to see how much faster it is and how much more performance all of its extra cost buys.

So how fast does the M850i get from 0-60 mph in this test? Well, after Watson’s data logging equipment failed for some reason, he decided to use a phone app to log its time. We don’t know how accurate the app is but it’s better than nothing. After using the app to record his time, it logged a 3.6 second 0-60. That’s about what BMW claims it to be, so it’s probably quite accurate. Plus, it blows the doors off of every other car in the test, obviously. Although, the SEAT did quite well, nailing a 4.6 seconds 0-60 mph time, which is impressive in an SUV.

This is a bit of a silly video, as the M850i was never going to be challenged by those other cars. However, it’s still interesting to see how it compares and how much more speed all of that extra money gets you.
