Just last week we shared with you the tuning options available from one of the best BMW tuning companies out there, AC Schnitzer, engineered for the new BMW 5 Series Sedan. The Germans took another step in the right direction this weekend, unveiling a kit for the fresh BMW 5 Series Touring as well, a kit that definitely makes the family hauler stand out in the crowd.

The front end of the tuned AC Schnitzer creation might seem familiar and that’s because it’s mostly identical to the one of the sedan. The front bumper gets a new splitter and the kidney grilles are now black and, even though these two changes don’t seem like much, they do alter the face of the 5er enough to give it a more aggressive look.

On the sides you’ll notice the new side sills as well as some new mirror covers while the stance of the car was also altered thanks to a new set of springs that bring the body down a few millimeters. To be exact, the front axle drops by 25 mm while the rear axle by 20 mm. All of that not only improves handling but it also changes the look of the Touring 5er, making it considerably more attractive in our book.

Of course, the wheels are also a big part of this massive change, AC Schnitzer claiming they have eight different models in store for the G30 and G31 5 Series in a couple of color choices. Their offerings are forged and measure either 19″ or 20″ in diameter.

Round the back, the biggest attraction will definitely be the set of exhaust tips that can be finished in stainless steel, titanium or carbon fiber. At the same time, the hatch can gain a splitter up top for more downforce at higher speeds. For a better sound, AC Schnitzer is also offering custom exhausts for petrol powered cars while diesels can be had with active mufflers that incorporate speakers for a meaner growl.

As far as engine tuning options go, the AC Schnitzer range is not complete yet, the Germans still working on kits for the 20d, 30i and M550i variants. At the same time, the 540i has a kit that takes the power output up to 400 HP while the 530d can reach 315 HP with one of their ECU upgrades. The best bit about all of this is that AC Schnitzer kits allow you to keep your BMW warranty intact.
