Exactly…they do let things come out, but never as a confirmed fact. So read between the lines, read their smile or see it on their face, they will let you know somehow :) But they can’t come upfront and talk about future plans.

It’s still fun to talk to these people and being close to some of them that made the ultimate the decision, is even more fascinating.

The way he answered it was very clear if you ask me, it was something like a semi-official confirmation for a 520d xDrive, 550i xDrive and so on.

that’s their job. They like to focus on the product presented and not talk about future developments. I learned that in my many conversations with them. I don’t even ask anymore :)

they must develop a quicker diesel engine. europe market is well aware that the new Jaguar XF Diesel S does 0-60 in 5.8 and its a better looking car

Very disappointed with how he responded to the questions. He barely answered any!! It seems like he wanted to keep things a secret.

“BimmerToday: Which engines are planned in conjunction with the xDrive? Will we see also a BMW 550i or 520d with xDrive all-wheel or will it remain specific on some models?
Josef Wüst: We will have a very wide range of offerings.”

Question to: Anders Warming, Head of Exterior Design at BMW.

Why has the front line of the front card hood gone so to the back?? Wouldn’t be better to keep it as the e92 or the 1series???

Ah, you missed my question about the styling… maybe next time.

Just a note on the NCAP. I read somewere that in order to get the 5 stars, most manufacturers compromize something else – whereas BMW didn’t compromize anything in order to receive the 5 stars. They set their own goals according to their own crash investigations and makes their cars safer as a result. This doens’t keep NCAP in mind.

Pitty this isn’t general knowledge.
