The next generation BMW 5 Series is just months away from its official unveiling and prototypes have already entered the final evaluation phase, but this doesn’t stop car magazines across the world from speculating some more on the final design form.
We’ve seen in the past some interesting renderings, some more successful than others and today, we’re returning with one more.
The german magazine Auto Motor und Sport takes another shot at this and publishes a rear-end rendering of the next 5er. From the beginning, we have to say that we disagree with the design lines illustrated by them and looking at the most recent spy photos, we can clearly see some differences between them.
This still doesn’t stop us from sharing the photos with you and allow you to comment on it.
We’ve already inquired about the rendering shown above and our suspicions have been confirmed: rear-end design lines…still OFF!
In the next couple of months, the test mules will start to lose more of their camouflage and we’re going to have a better idea of what to expect from the rear-end design. Could the taillights be an evolution of the current model? A combination of 3 Series with 5 GT taillights?

this rendering is like from time the 7 series f01 came out…
what they did is just take 7 series and draw line in the rear lights..wtf!
i just cant understand that someone ,if he wants to do a good job, does not take time and look at those spy shots or listen rumors and such…
i think the journalist who wrote the text needed pic for his text..and he did a quick 5 min job and attached pic with the text..which is very stupid…
and of course we dont need to see EVERYTHING ,cos this is just stupid its not even funny..
looks like a 7..tail of a 3 and a badging saying 5.
Yeah, the tail lines are pretty off but I’m a big fan of those lights. At least, I’m a much bigger fan of those lights than the last 5-series rendering that was on here.
It looks like just a facelift for thr 5. I do hope that the upcoming model will be more refreshing.
That outer shape of the rear lights are terrible!!!! Car looks extremely boring!
No, I thing the new BMW 5 Series back look`s llike BMW 5 Series GT………….
i’d hit it
for a second there it looked like the new 2009 e class
Looks nice!
I think we can be pretty sure the tail lights will have the ‘L’-shape.
This is a Honda they rendered.
bmw…known for making quite ugly cars , non modern out of date conservative design , not expecting the new 5 too be pretty and elegant at all , more boring and copy and paste treatments please..I think audi along with mercedes make more elegant and more beautiful cars than bmw , its a shame for such strong name
Looks like a 7 smooshed to the proportions of a 5, and with a different tail-light design. Not bad, generally, but not very distinctive either. The lamp doesn’t have the correct degree of confidence and aggression that the 5 should have. If anything, the lamp is an evolution of the 3’s design.
Great, Hyundai Genesis taillamps
