The people over at David Brown Automotive teased a faster Mini not long ago, with a couple of very dark pictures. Today, they decided to lift the veils and show us what they have been working on, in the shape of the Oselli Edition David Brown Mini. This is meant to be a tribute to the brand as a whole, as it turns 60 this year. The Oselli Edition models are built in collaboration with classic car specialist Oselli and come with a couple of unique features.
Only 60 units of these special cars will ever be built, in tune with the anniversary celebrated this year and pre-orders are open now, in case you just can’t wait to part with a considerable amount of money. But before we discuss trivial things such as price tags, let’s see what these beauties are bringing to the table. The cars are offered in two configurations with either two seats or four and come with an upgraded A-Series engine with a displacement of 1,420 cc.
The power output has gone through the roof, these little bundles of joy now enjoying over 100 HP. Having sampled the original with about 40 HP and knowing how fun and fast it was, I can’t begin to comprehend how 100 HP would feel on a car that small. The added ponies are delivered through a five-speed gearbox and thanks to a new intake and exhaust. You also get new dampers, upgraded brakes and Enkei allow wheels.
The David Brown Mini Oselli Edition models come finished in either White or Grey and can be configured to sport various stripes and accents in red, blue or green. They also have blacked out trims on the outside and LED headlamps. A number of customizable options can also be fitted to these cars if you want them to, including a roll-cage. As for the price, the 2-seater will start at £108,000 ($132,000 or €120,000) while the 4-seater will set you back at least £98,000 ($120,000 or €110,000).
