Every now and then, BMW Japan surprises us with a series of special editions BMWs which are not found on this side of the Pacific.Take for example these 523i and 523d models of the G30 5 Series generation, who were given a special treatment and sold under the BMW 5 Series M Spirit Edition.
The BMW 523i M Spirit sedan and the touring BMW 523d M Spirit adopt the M Sport Package, along with the M Sport suspension and dedicated steering wheel, but priced more attractively than individual configurations.
The Japanese BMW 523i is powered by the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder B48, which comes in a variant with 184 hp and 290 Newton meters of torque. The model corresponds to the European 520i which makes the same power output.
Quite similar is the Japanese BMW 523d: A four-cylinder diesel B47 with 190 hp and 400 Newton meters of torque known to the Europeans by the 520d naming convention.
The BMW 523i M Spirit is priced at ¥6,950,000 or around $61,418. The BMW 523d Touring M Spirit comes with a price tag of ¥7,650,000 or around $67,604.
By far the best looking saloon BMW make right now. Just saying.
Are these headlights different from standard ones?
This looks very nice as compared to the ones that we have usually seen in G30 5 series.
These are the standard ones. The ones you see more often are the upgrades ones.
This might be one of the very few cases where the standard ones look better than upgraded ones
