The M340i will be the only choice for those wanting a straight six petrol mill. which is both good and bad. The upgraded B58 engine will pack some 380 HP under its belt and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque, which, combined with xDrive, will turn the 3er into a proper, fast sedan. The M340i is likely to be offered only with the ZF 8-speed automatic transmission.
BMW’s first M Performance 3 Series Automobile will also feature M Sport brakes, M differential, variable steering, M suspension (option 704 standard even with xDrive, adaptive suspension optional), M steering wheel, M Performance exterior upgrades, rear spoiler and 19 inch wheels.
Some new colors will be offered as well, like the Portimao Blue and Blue Ridge Mountain.
The market launch is scheduled for mid-to-late 2019.
