The first competitive event of this year’s One Lap of America was the wet skidpad at the Tire Rack Headquarters in South Bend, Indiana, and this year’s event was certainly wet! On a waterlogged skidpad, Mike finished 5th overall pulling 0.751 G’s with three of the top four cars featuring all-wheel-drive, the BMW M2 certainly excelled in the downpour.

As the rain continued to pour down we headed east on I-80 for tomorrow’s activities at Pittsburgh International Raceway (PIR) via a passage control at Lake Erie Harley Davidson in Avon, Ohio. This stop arranged to support of the Brock Yates Tribute Fund, the Alzheimer’s Association Cleveland Area Chapter, and the Cleveland Automotive Hall of Fame.

From there we had a short drive, 100miles or so to our Holiday Inn hotel in Youngstown, Ohio.
