The ALPINA D5 BITURBO made its debut a year ago at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Based on the TwinTurbo diesel BMW 535d, the experts in Buchloe created a 350 horsepower luxury sedan that offers superior performance combined with low fuel consumption, and luxury at the highest level. As with all ALPINA models, the D5 Alpina gives customers an almost unlimited customization program.

As mentioned earlier, the 3.0 liter turbo diesel outputs 350 horsepower at 1,500 rpm and 700 Nm of torque. The power is sent to the rear wheels via a remapped 8-Speed automatric transmission with Switch-Tronic. It only takes the D5 5.1 seconds to run from 0 to 100 km/h and has a top speed of 275 km/h.

Excellent braking capability is provided in the form of ventilated high-performance brakes measuring 374mm front and 345mm rear.

Despite the engine‘s high specific power output of 117hp per litre, it achieves class-leading fuel consumption and emission figures: 6,2 l/100km (45.6mpg) and 165g/km CO2 (Touring: 6,5 l/100km (43.5mpg) and 172g/km CO2) (Combined, measured according to ECE norm).

Available in Europe only, the ALPINA D5 sedan starts at 70,950 euros, while the Touring model sells for at least 74,350 euros.
