wowwww !!! it is too expensive……………..why?

    • Shane West

Bloody RIP OFF! BMW is not a Ferrari!

  • Ruslan-Kz

Hey guy, did you see cheap BMW?

    • PKH

what do you call the 1 Series and the mega city car coming out and the X1.

      • FreudeKing

Those are definitely cheaper BMWs. You don’t make a car premium by pricing it in the premium range, you actually have to make something premium!

  • BMfan

    Really expensive.
I guess its meant to be exclusive.
    Waiting for the proper coupe.

  • Heddlu_Cymru M5

Expensive or not, after all the 6er has always been expensive as always…

  • viper

then I guess the M6 will cost around 140.000 euros when 650 costs 90….

if you think thats expensive the rival SL 500 costs whopping 112000 euros , the SL600 150.119euros , the most powerful SL63 149.048 ?!…but if thats not enough theres a V12 65AMG with over 600hp that costs 225.565 euros….thats says alot about the SL.

    • JakeM

BMW, like Mercedes, practices prestige pricing. And people are willing to pay for products from those two brands because they know its worth it. BMW and MB have the history, the heritage, the motorsport and innovation (especially MB) behind them to warrant such pricing policies.

      • viper

yeah , but seriously the SL way more expensive and a bit overpriced as well..I know….but seriously Id still chose the SL over any bmw 6 , Id even go for the older SL rather than new bmw 6….why? I dont know , its just how that car looks is amazing , the interior is like my living room , its just super sexy , Id pay for him double if necessary. but the bmw 6 is awesome, awesome car , I guess it all comes down to tastes then

M6 Convertible will rather cost around 115.000 – 120.000 euro.

  • FreudeKing

This is pretty STEEP! They are pricing themselves OUT of the market. This is because they are greedy to make some big profits. If you consider the old model and the new one, you can see that this is a HUGE JUMP!

This is just my opinion but this car does not look like an expensive car at all. When looking at these photos, I wouldn’t think this is the kind of car that deserves a price tag of almost 100000euros. In fact, I think the 3 Series Coupe is much more elegant and well balanced convertible than this and I would rather spend half of this money on a much better looking 3 Series convertible.

BTW, I love the 3 Series Convertible official video from BMW. It is really good quality and well made. I saved on my phone and often show others. They should do one for each model instead of cheap videos on the X3 and 6, with the clattering sounds of cheap engines.

This is what I am talking about – no one will be unhappy about this: http://www.bmw.com/com/en/newvehicles/3series/convertible/2010/showroom/gallery/index.html#mediaID-12

You wouldn’t think that it will be priced above 90.000 euro?! What?! The previous 650i convertible was in the same price range. What did you expect? That they will make it cheaper?

As for 3-er looking more expensive: why did you think so? And please, don’t even mention about “superluxurious” of hard-tops.

      • Shane West

nice vid. hard top does look more expensive than soft, but both cars top down, the 3 does look better i think. if you compare model for model, this increase is quite a hike.

        • PKH

what are you actually getting from the 6 that’s not on the 3??? Not much, space is almost identical.

        • wazon8

More expensive? Well, that’s your intuition that I don’t share it at all for two reasons. First of all, we’ve got a car with soft-tops about which almost everyone agrees that they look expensive – RR Phantom Dropehead. Actually numbers of terribly expensive convertibles are with soft-tops: those from Ferrari, Porsche, Bentley and so on. Try to imagine RR with hard-top. Would it look more expensive? Well, I tend to think that it would look terrible – it would lose all its style. Second, we’ve got numbers of cheap cars with hard-tops (Renault, Peugeout, Ford, Opel and so on) and this very feature doesn’t make them looking more expensive at all. From my point of view, their intuitive price range would stay the same, even if they had soft-tops. Maybe they would look even more interesting, since they were much more different from coupes. It shows that hard or soft-top has not much in common with looking expensive, there are other features of cars that responsible for it. I’m also not convinced that 6-er would look better with hard-top. Anyway, I am with soft-tops all the way.

          • FreudeKing

Meta is always better than cloth! Look how cheap the 1 Series looks. If you compare THE SAME CAR with soft and hard top, the hard top is always better signs of quality.

Wazon8 would probably think a cloth car like GINA is better than metal cars. Unfortunatly the closest you would get is plastics ones at the moment.

Why do we even have an arguement about hard top being a better choice and a sign for better quality? IT IS A FACT. Your RR example is flawed because you are not concentrating on the ROOF! I would rather take a Rolls with hard top than one with cheap cloth roof, but we have no choice!

    The configurator is offline now…
maybe it was just a test run?

I have seen the BMW 6 Series Concept at this year Los Angeles Auto Show. It looks very great.

I am thinking about getting this 6 Coupe next year!

    • PKH

the concept is a stunner, i am disappointed with the final production version. it does not shine like the concept.

      • FreudeKing

becasue they took out all the nice things that add value and uplifts a design liek chrome inserts in the headlights, nice lower bumper, nice chrome tailpipe designs and side mirror chrom inserts. When you take all that away, we have an empty, dull looking ship that we have here.

  • Corey Slockbower

Always nice seeing these driving by on the Autobahn between Stuttgart and Munchen.

I agree with Corey Slockbower. 650i is a much better value over the SL550. Plus Dinan will eventually come out with the ECU tuning, similar to the F01/F10 because they share the same twin turbo V8, which will bring it up to 495bhp which will rival the power of the SL63 for a fraction of the cost.
