What a cool concept – they should have gone to production with this thing! I don’t believe for a second that they reason they pulled the pin on this model has anything to do with rear axle issues. Look at the experience ///M engineers have with the x5 4.8is. Somebody in Germany probably didn’t think that the m badge belonged on a wagon! Too bad – it would be even more practical than the sedan!

It’s too bad this was never made. I’m sure it would have done well in Europe – the C5 RS6 Avant did very well despite being a wagon. However, for US consumption? Probably good that they didn’t bring it here.
