The BMW C1 was ahead of it's time and because of high manufacturing costs, a BMW C1 would cost around £4000, as much as a small car! I still own a BMW C1 200 and have riden it across the UK and Europe. It has kept me safe and dry. I think they look good too and not sure why some people find them ugly. This new EC1 is aimed at a slightly different market. I am not sure you could use it to cross Europe and the weather protection looks very limited for UK use. More storage would also be welcome, plus an occasional pillion passenger seat, but the styling looks good and I am glad BMW are continuing with the C1 idea.

I'm one of the few lucky Vectrix owners. The Vectrix scooter is perfect for my daily commute of some 7 miles. The C1-E is even more appealing as I wouldn't need a the wear a helmet and have better protection from rain. Genereally it's a pity BMW have stopped selling the C1. Also it might have been a good move for BMW to acquire the remains of Vectrix from their recent chapter 11 proceedings.

My wife's got the C1. This little thing is awsome to use in traffic. The only draw back is the engine noise. It's loud, it's ugly. So, this electric one seems like the answere. Hope it gets to production!
