Earlier today, BMW released new information on the 2016 7 Series. While the 7er prototype continue to be covered in camouflage, other details are not. In the following videos, BMW highlights the key features of the new 7 Series and takes us on the track in Miramas to show us how nimble the large luxury limousine is.

We also had the chance to drive the new 7 Series on the same track and our driving impressions can be found here.  Using an all-new EfficientLightweigh chassis, which uses an extensive amount of CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) in the passenger cell and aluminum in the chassis, the new G12 7 Series will weigh 130 kg (286 lbs) less than the previous generation.

Other updates include a new iDrive system with gestures, air suspension, safety features and autonomous functions. We put together an article describing all those new features of the 7 Series.
