At the International Media Launch of the new BMW 1 Series Hatchback, the designers and engineers in Munich also presented an additional model – an M135i xDrive decked out with the latest M Performance Parts. Soon after the market launch of the new BMW 1 Series, an extensive range of exclusive M Performance Parts is available that will enhance the car’s sporty appearance and dynamic potential. In addition, the parts also meet functional requirements in terms of lightweight construction and aerodynamics.
The 1 Series shown here features a carbon pressed front splitter, as well as horizontal-flow rear spoiler and the aero flicks in high-gloss black optimize aerodynamics. There are also high-gloss black side sill inserts and the rear diffuser is also made of pressed carbon fiber.
Other M Performance parts offered for the 1 Series are the exterior mirror caps and the new M kidney grille with mesh design as a retrofitting solution.
In the performance department, BMW has decided to offer an 18-inch M Performance sports brake system. The brake’s calipers are finished in red, for that additional sporty visuals. As compared to the standard brake system, the front axle has larger inner-vented, perforated discs in lightweight design which are powerfully gripped by 4-piston fixed calipers. The amply sized calipers are made of a aluminum alloy so as to save weight. The rear axle features matching lightweight construction brake discs with single-piston floating caliper.
Matching the sports brake, BMW offers the high-quality M Performance forged wheel Y-Spoke 554M in an 18-inch format.
Inside, BMW has added the M Performance steering wheel with Alcantara grip area. In addition, visual accentuations are provided by the red marking at the 12 o’clock position and the silver-grey hand-sewn cross-stitching.
There is an additional option for vehicles with Steptronic sports transmission: high-quality M Performance carbon fibre shift paddles can be selected to further enhance the motor racing atmosphere in the cockpit.
The M Performance Parts are available from market launch which starts at the end of September 2019.

Beautiful shoot!
Thanks!
Great photography indeed. However, it seems I’m the only person on this planet that really likes this car…
It’s decent looking.
I honestly think, as ppl get used to it, it will become striking to them. One has to keep in mind that the designers are now living with this design for two years or so, they won’t put out a design that they don’t find unattractive. Well, at least, that’s my take.
Don’t understand the hate @ all, only car in the segment I would consider (& 1er Sedan is great, so high hopes for GC as well). White works on new BMWs, displays the simplicity of their shapes while highlighting interesting design details. My only concern with this is the rising beltline may truncate the greenhouse enough to curtail visibility, could hardly see out of X2 I tried on for size.
The front looks like it’s smiling. Cannot. Unsee.
The black flap on the rear side skirt is neat. That black sticker… not so much.
BMW claims it isn’t bringing it to the US? I read someplace that they said its because hatches don’t sell too well in the US. Meanwhile, they sell the Mini hatch… : and with the same engine as the JCW with 306hp… derp.
Does it have any electric powertrain options?
What do you mean?
When will M135 get an electric powertrain? I love the look of the 135 but after driving a Tesla M3 nothing else compares to the instant throttle response and quiet ride.
Sorry if this is outside of article scope. I’d be interested in article covering this.
M3 is a BMW & has been for decades. Since any Tesla I’ve seen is parked or stuck in gridlock (& Model S makes as much road noise as any 5,000 lb. limo), when & where are you enjoying them? Tesla don’t actually make a 5 dr. hatch., so yeah, irrelevant here. Also in general.
To me it looks like an A45 AMG
Gawd not @ all! Kinda the point…
Shambolic. Poseur. Fake… Either it’s lame-stream media, or the Gerry’s have hired a tosser to make decisions about authenticity
What language is this?!
What are you trying to say?
He edited it & got more incoherent.
