Currently, Henrik Fisker is most known for his work with his own car company, Fisker, and its Karma and Emotion electric cars. However, before Fisker was attempting to take on Elon Musk and Tesla, he was an automotive designer. One of his finest designs ended up being one of the best looking BMWs of all time — the BMW Z8. While the Z8 wasn’t the best driving roadster of all time, nor the best driving Bimmer, its stunning good looks, brilliant engine and comfortable ride made it a superb grand touring BMW. It’s also one of the most highly desirable BMWs of all time and one of the most expensive.

This specific 2001 example is currently for sale on Bring-A-Trailer, being sold by BMW of Cincinnati, and we can assume that its current price ($110,000 at the time of writing this) is going to go up quite a bit. Being quite rare, as only 5,703 Z8s were ever built, it’s also quite valuable. Though, if we had the money, we’d be all over a car like the Z8.

Under that gorgeous nose lies a 4.9 liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine, the same one as the E39 BMW M5, and it made about 400 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque. Not only that but it made a superb noise, a grumbly, angry V8 noise that perfectly matched the look of the Z8. Even better, it was mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, making it a proper enthusiast’s GT car. Even though it wasn’t the sharpest or most dynamic car from BMW at the time, its brilliant engine, kick-ass soundtrack, six-speed manual and gorgeous styling made it one of the best touring cars to ever come from Bavaria.

This BMW Z8 only has 9,000 miles on it, so it’s incredibly fresh and looks immaculate. While having such little mileage on an old car can actually be problematic, we’re sure that no one is going to be scared off by that. This car looks perfect and is well worth the investment.
