The annual Legends of the Autobahn took place this year at the Nicklaus Club in Monterey, California. The romantic atmosphere at Nicklaus Club – Monterey not only fosters the ideal environment for one of the truly special moments in one’s lifetime, but also offers the perfect setup for a high-class meetup of German cars.

This year, BMW Car Club of America was joined by Mercedes-Benz and Audi in creating a special event with hundreds of cars displayed on the beautiful golf course.

First event took place in 2007 and eight years later, the show has grown to over 500 cars.

From the BMW world, we had the opportunity to see several E30 M3s, the legendary M1, 2002 Turbo, 3.0 CSL, 3.0 CSi, Z8 and even some newer models, like the M4 and M5. ALPINA was represented as well with a 2002 model and the B6 Gran Coupe. A black matte BMW i8 and the Z4 GTLM rounded up the amazing gathering of German cars.

While navigating the vast lawn, we had the chance to spend some time chatting with the owners of those special cars, and even handed out a Michelin award for the best car with…Michelin tires – a BMW Z8.
