MINI jumps ahead of the scheduled web debut and somewhat leaks photos of the un-camouflaged MINI Paceman. The folks over at Motoringfile spotted the Paceman in MINI Space, the online version of MINI’s print magazine.

The sportier, two-door version of the Countryman introduced last year will come to market in 2013, a few months after its Paris Auto Show debut.

Built on the same platform and wheelbase as the Countryman, the two-door Paceman has a lower stance, 0.4 inch closer to the ground, and a roof placed 1.7 inches lower than the five-door version.

This lower stance delivers a more dynamic drive than the Countryman while providing more space than the current MINI hatch. The Paceman is also 44 pounds lighter than the Countryman.

Customers will have plenty of model options to choose from Paceman Cooper to Cooper D, Cooper S and Cooper SD. A MINI John Cooper Works is expected to come to market as well. All variants are available with the all-wheel drive ALL4 system as standard.

The base price of the Paceman will be slightly above the five-door Countryman, around 1,500 euros for German customers. The Paceman will debut in the U.S. in early 2013.

Stay tuned for more photos in the upcoming days, along with another MINI debut.
