Motorsport Magazine pits the Lexus RC F against the BMW M4 in a run from standstill to 280 km/h. That’s 174 mph for us Yanks!

The Lexus RC F is powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.0 liter V8 engine producing 467 horsepower and 389 lb-ft of torque sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Official figures say the 0 to 62 mph is achieved in 4.5 seconds.

In contrast, the new BMW M3 and M4 have dropped the V8 naturally-aspirated engine and are now using a 3.0 liter, six-cylinder inline turbocharged unit.

The all-new, 3.0-liter BMW M4 engine is approximately 10 kilograms lighter than its V8 predecessor and packs an even stronger punch. With 425 horsepower from 5,500 – 7,300 rpm, 406 lb-ft of torque from 1,850 – 5,500 rpm, and capable of 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds when equipped with the M-DCT transmission (4.1 seconds with standard 6-speed manual).

Let’s see which one is faster.

the fuck are those gauges on the top? they look like a racing game from the Panasonic 3DO machine in the 90’s

LOL, if that hideous “Predator” fascia wasn’t enough, that orange color on the Lexus really makes it look like a joke.

  3. Michael Persiano says:

Sorry Dudes, but the F’s every bit the beast the M4 claims to be. Hold onto your helmets in the M4. There have already been several instances of driver’s losing control as a result of the lag and boost. The timed race was nearly a dead heat. Up to 200 kph, the RCF consistently led. That is surprising given the bi-turbo charged 6 in the bimmer. See you on the roads and the track.

True fact: It is way easier to launch and achieve claimed 0-60
numbers in the RC F. In the M4, it takes multiple steps to activate
launch control to reach low 4 sec launches. But in the end, the M4 still
has more power as evidenced by its better 1/4 mile results.
