After the comparison against the Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG, the new BMW M6 Gran Coupe now goes in a visual battle against the Audi S7 Sportback. Many may say that the S7 is not a worthy competitor to the M6 Gran Coupe, but the Ingolstadt-based brand does not currently offer an RS7 model.

The comparison below is simply from a design perspective since the performance of the two vehicles is far from being on the same level. While the M6 Gran Coupe delivers 560 horsepower from a V8 engine, the S7 and its 4.0-liter TFSI engine produces 420 horsepower. If a future RS7 would use the powerplant from the RS6, then the power match would be fair: 560 hp and 700 Nm of torque vs the 560 hp and 680 Nm of torque in the M6 GC.

The two vehicles would have similar fuel consumptions: 9.8 liters per 100 kilometers for the Audi RS6 Avant vs the 9.9 liters for the BMW M5 F10 sedan.

Design wise, both models are classifieds as luxury coupes with four-doors, a segment started by the Mercedes CLS and followed years later by the Audi A7.   The very sloping roof is one of the design elements that define the vehicles in the class. In length, the M6 Gran Coupe measures 197.1 inches while the Audi S7 is 195.7 inches. The M6 GC is 74.7 inches wide while the S7 is 75.2 inches. The wheelbase of the M6 GC is also longer than the S7, 116.8 in vs 114.7 in.

The 4+1 seat addition to the M6 family combines stunning proportions, design and driving dynamics of the M6 Coupe with interior room and amenities for up to five passengers. The interior of the BMW M6 GC reveals the driver-focused cockpit design typical of the brand and a luxurious ambiance for all those on board.

Without any further ado, here is a photo comparison of the two cars:
