Theophilus Chin and Chris Doane Automotive deliver for Road & Track some great renderings of the 2014 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe.

The four-door coupe version of the upcoming 2 Series aims to compete with similar offerings from Mercedes (CLA) and Audi (A3 sedan). The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe will offer to customers the sleekness and design of a coupe with the practicality of a sedan, without going into the 3 Series range of vehicles.

The exterior design is based on the 2 Series Coupe and Convertible models, but with a slightly longer platform to accommodate the sleek roof line and increased size. The 2 Series Gran Coupe sports short overhangs at the front and rear with a coupe-like profile all around.

Under the hood, the 2014 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is going to offer a wide range of engines from the 4 and 6-cylinder engine family. The car will retain the rear-wheel drivetrain while the engines will be matted to a six-speed or eight-speed automatic transmissions.

BMW is expected to debut the 2 Series family next year at the Frankfurt Auto Show.

This is my future car, assuming they don’t give it that crappy plastic 3 series interior.

  2. johnparke says:

I love the back. It reminds me of the swept wave looking tail of the E46. The front is meh.

  3. Nice rendering, looks very promising! I would be interested in either an M or M235i variant if BMW decides to offer such a model in the US.

  4. Henry says:

Will finally stop driving my e30 for one of these!

  5. scooternva says:

    That is one sexy beast!

  6. jhonnyv says:

terrible rendereing imo opinion. the transitions are all wrong. the fron bumper is from a x5/x6, lights, hood and the proportions look all off. the only thing that might be accurate is the side.

  7. Mamam Theophilus says:

    Malaysia boleh!

  8. awegweiser says:

A four door COUPE? Has Chris Bangle been back screwing things up again? This thing looks like a fine Japanese family sedan but probably not priced as one.

  9. Joélly Carlos says:

meu sonho de consumo e carro lindoooooooooo
