The first wallpapers of the new BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe are now online. The first BMW four-dour coupe was unveiled this past weekend and the initial reactions are on the positive side.

BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe will launch in summer of 2012 and will directly compete with the Audi A7, Mercedes-Benz CLS and even at the higher-end with Aston Martin and Maserati.

The 4+1 seat addition to the 6 Series line combines stunning proportions, design and driving dynamics of the 6 Series Coupe with interior room and amenities for up to five passengers.
The new 6 Series Gran Coupe may be viewed as an upscale 5 Series sedan, with the stylistic imprint of the sexy 6 Series Coupe.

The 6 Series Gran Coupe will be offered initially with an uprated version of the N55 six cylinder to be known as the N55HP. It will be good for 315 hp and 330 lb ft of torque.

The 650i will make use of an upgraded version the existing N63 to be know as the N63tu. It will produce 445 hp and 485 lb ft of torque. That will propel the 650i Gran Coupe to 62 mph from a standstill in 4.6 seconds.

The 6 Series Gran Coupe will appeal to an audience that needs to transport four people in luxury and styling while still delivering the driving dynamics that BMW buyers demand.
