A little birdie tell us that we’re just hours away from the official photos and while we couldn’t get an official confirmation of the BMW X1 exact unveiling time, our bets go on Thursday. But in the mean time, new spy photos of the X1 made their way onto the web, only this time, in a different color, a dark red that we haven’t seen before.

Now, we’re not sure what else we can tell you about the X1, we have pretty much covered anything and everything about this new Sports Activity Vehicle. But what we can tell you from these spy shots is that the X1 looks….let’s say, quite different when photoshoot from several angles.

While the rear and side views don’t seem to impress us much, the raised front-end shot really stands out, showing an aggressive “nose” that will appeal to many. Now we know that many of you on here oppose the X1 and don’t embrace it yet, but we still believe the X1 sales in Europe will be satisfactory. Of course, the base price will play an important role.

So far we know that the car magazines are raving about the xDrive23d which is powered by one of the best BMW engines out there, a 204 horsepower four-cylinder turbo, 258lb ft of torque at 2000rpm and 37 mpg fuel consumption. The xDrive23d runs from 0-60 in 7.3 seconds.

Enjoy the photos and look forward to more information very soon!

    isn’t this barbera red?

  • Adam

No, it’s probably Vermillion Red……the color first introduced on the X6.

  • BMW Sales

Vermillion is correct. Barbera has a purple hue of cranberry to it.

…i like rear end very much…and front too..only regrets for hoffmeister kink…but not so bad this bangle/vanH style…it reminds me a little bit on hyundais ….but still its bmw and ultimate….

  • Lariv

I like the front but not so sure about the rear lights and the hoffmeister kink but it is better than it’s rivals. When does the X2 go on sale?

    • Frederico Silva

      What is the hoffmeister kink?

      • Lariv

It is the bend in the C-Pillar which symbolises all BMWs are rear wheel drive or are more suited to rear wheel drive. Hope that helped.
