As much as we would love to see the BMW M1 Hommage making it into production, that will not happen. The fellows at CarMagazine UK "broke" the news yesterday with the announcement that the BMW M1 Hommage Concept will be making its way into the bimmer world.
They go even further and warn us that their July issue will reveal key project details including:
- The timetable for production
- The three-strong powertrain line-up
- The lightweight body construction
- The plan for ‘heron-wing’ doors, and a driver-focused, multi-layered interior
Unfortunately, our sources inside/close/around BMW have defused the "bomb" and burnt our bridges: there will NOT be an M1 Hommage built as a production car.
Sorry guys, I guess the Audi R8 will need to find a different rival.
