BMW invited us today at the official unveil of the new BMW Concept M4 GTS, the street-legal racing car which will also come to the U.S. in 2016. The M4 GTS is the pinnacle of BMW performance. It’s the ultimate expression of BMW’s racing technology for use on the road. It’s not only lighter than the regular M4, but it comes with track-ready features and the water injection system.
What the system does is inject ultra-fine water spray into the plenums of the intake. The water is then vaporized, which cools the intake air dramatically, thus reducing the compression temperature in the combustion chamber.
The production car will be very close to the concept presented today, so we expect to see the manually adjustable exposed carbon fiber front splitter and rear wing, the Frozen Dark Grey Metallic paint and Acid Orange accents and wheels. Other exterior colors will be offered as well.
BMW’s first production car with OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) looks even more impressive from up-close and we can see why BMW designers love this new technology. OLEDs give BMW designers the ability to shape the taillights in more ways than ever before, giving the car an unique look and premium at the same time.
If you’re on the market to a real Porsche 911 competitor, the M4 GTS is the car for you, just hurry up to your local dealer since the numbers will be limited.

So the orange highlights are for public safety reasons?
:) For increased effect.
BMW says they resemble the first M3 GTS
Oh, that makes more sense, but I still think that the orange highlights just don’t look appealing on the wheels of the car.
The wheel of the car just don’t look appealing at all to me… And the grey paint for the CSL yes but the Orange for the GTS i don’t know… It wasn’t as much bonkers when it came out, especially in terms of performances, so…
I can understand the efforts by BMW people to use bright contrast on dark grey base color. And Benz even has a wholy orange-edged special version of CLA45. But maybe red is better. And the bright contrast needs to be applied to some other edges like wings for example.
Orange is to remind people of its GTS nature, and is more funky (modern) and unusual than Red. I just don’t understand why the yellow calipers though, they look out of place. Matte grey or orange would be better imo.
Then buy other ones.
Really impressive! :o
The frozen paint ruins it.
Wut it highlights all the lines of the car, looks superb to me with the bright accents and clear carbon fiber…
I would agree with you. The dark-grey looks very carbon fiberish and copes well with color edges not mentioning carbon components. The matte polishing is just fabulous. I would choose this for my next BMW if I have the option.
God damn that’s hot.
