In another unusual drag race, a BMW F10 M5 takes on the Ford Mustang GT500.
The tuned up BMW M5 gets an AFE intake, AFE scoops, AMS catless downpipes, BMS tune and a custom-made exhaust by Uppsala Avgasteknik.
From the standard 560 horsepower, the M5 now delivers 700 horsepower.
The Mustang GT500 uses a 5.4 liter supercharged engine delivering 550 horsepower.
So with more power, yet slightly heavier, is the M5 faster on a straight line? Let’s find out.
Nice try. But that was not a 13/14 GT500 with a 5.8L motor and 662hp. That was a 10-12 Gt500 with about 550hp.
Gotta love this line, “The Mustang GT500 is tuned up as well with a supercharger installed under the hood.”, since all GT500s are supercharged from the factory. And, yes, that is a 10-12 model, not the 5.8 with 662 HP.
As an owner of a 14 gt500, that is clearly not a 13-14 2.3L tvs blown 5.8 trinity. Its definitely the 10-12 5.4 540-550hp. The 5.8 comes stock with an under rated 662hp. All Shelby gt500 mustangs are factory supercharged so the “upgraded” play is BS.
