90 years of BMW Motorrad open the road for one more tradition: one of the biggest motorcycle reunions in Eastern Europe will take place for the first time in Romania, in mid May. The season opening event welcomes all motorcycle riders or fans, from Romania and all over Europe.

BMW Motorrad Days Romania will mark 90 years of BMW Motorrad. Fueled by the common passion for driving on two wheels, it will be open for all motorcycle enthusiasts, regardless of the brand they are driving. Several hundreds of participants are expected at the first event of its kind in Romania.

Organized at the Motocross Track Breghina in Zarnesti, near the city of Brasov, it takes full advantage of the picturesque region of central Romania: excellent mountain roads and unique off road freedom – a true motorcycle paradise. The presence of the famous and bloody Dracula Castle, located at only 10 km away from the event, offers a distinct Transylvania flavor. Transfagarasan, “the most beautiful road in the world”, as it was called by the BBC Top Gear journalist Jeremy Clarkson, is also an important attraction for the ones in search of a perfect drive, only 150 km away from Zarnesti.

On the 11th and 12th of May, two full days are prepared for participants, including the stunt show of the World Champion Chris Pfeiffer and the amazing performance of Alexandru Nicolau (Andy), World Skydiving Champion and Red Bull athlete. Andy is going to perform a jump from 2500 meters. The trick will be that he will land on a standing motorcycle (R 1200GS) or on Chris Pfeiffer‘s bike, and then leave with it. This will be the point when „officially“ the season gets started.

Two Romanian alternative rock bands will provide the evening entertainment.

BMW fans will have the chance to discover the new BMW R 1200 GS on the motocross track under the supervision of a Romanian Red Bull Romaniacs Expert Single Champion, Ioan Tara, and to test other bikes from the BMW range on the road around Zarnesti.

There are plenty of opportunities for accommodation around Zarnesti, as this is one of the most famous tourist regions in Romania. For the ones who want to stay close to the event, a free camping site is organized right at the track.
