Earlier this week, BMWBLOG attended a media launch event where BMW of North America handed out to journalists the keys of the new BMW 650i Convertible. The redesigned and highly acclaimed luxury cabriolet goes on sale this month with a base price starting at $91,375, including Destination & Handling.
A fleet of ten vehicle filled with journalists eager to test the new 6er went on a round-trip from Los Cabos to Baja, Mexico. The 550 kilometers route allowed for both cruising and sporty driving, along with an incredible scenery. And as expected, the Twin-Turbo V8 engine, paired with the 8-Speed ZF transmission, lived up to the expectations, giving us more reasons to ignore manual gearboxes in the future.
Driving mostly in M-mode and with the Dynamic Driving Control set to Sport+, the 650i Convertible allowed us to corner at high speeds with full confidence, at the cost of a slightly lower fuel economy.
Our full driving impressions are being written as we speak, so stay tuned in the next hours for an exclusive report and videos.
Since pictures are worth a thousand words, we wanted to share with you this fantastic photo gallery.
Studying in uni and frequently visit this site, not only because I’m a BMW fan but for a little inspiration! The 6 adorned in white looks phenomenal! Intrigued to see the 6 in a M outfit!
They really should get rid of them orange reflectors on the front. They look they come from a car in the 90’s!
Guys.. I walked by it yesterday at the dealership.. its massive. Everything about it is just huge. I am so curious to see how it will handle. With the seats up a bit you can actually fit 4 people comfortably – with golf bags and all. Reminds me of the Mercedes CLS
Woops.. meant CL..
looks much better than the hard top looking fwd to the m6 cabrio.
