On April 9, 2016, Laurel BMW of Westmont held its 2nd Annual Lemons of Love (LOL) Silent Auction and Gala at its dealership. The event was a huge success raising over $52,000 – double the amount from last year’s event. All proceeds benefit the charity and the production of its chemo-care goodie bags. The fundraiser was an unforgettable experience with one-of-a-kind racing and luxury auction items, as well as, special guests including Chef Michael Shrader of Standard Market, Shaun Hays of Chicago Chalk Champ, and Jason Amato of Takedown Eventures.

Founder, Jill Peltier, gave a heartfelt speech saying, “Because of your generosity, compassion and love for our charity, we’re able to continue our good work bringing smiles, happiness and hope back into the lives of cancer patients nationwide.”

“Cancer is a disease that affects everyone – directly or indirectly,” said General Manager, Pat Womack. “Jill and the Lemons of Love team are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of cancer patients with their chemo-care bags and we’re honored to be a part of it all. We’re committed – along with members of the racing community – to helping the charity grow and look forward to an even bigger LOL fundraiser in 2017.”

Lemons of Love is a grass-roots, non-profit, 501(c) organization started by Peltier, a cancer fighter (now in remission) and owner of Fresh Air Systems Technologies (F.A.S.T.) in Des Plaines, IL. She created LOL after being diagnosed with stage III colon cancer and going through chemotherapy in 2014.

LOL creates handmade chemo-care goodie bags for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Each bag is filled with products that were essential to Peltier’s healing during her own treatments and are delivered to local hospitals and individuals across the U.S.
