To promote the new Ford Focus ST, the Detroit-based automaker uses their creative minds to launch a comparison video against some of the sportiest midsize cars on the market: Mazdaspeed3, Subaru WRX and Volkswagen GTI. Among these, Ford decided, somewhat surprisingly, to include the BMW M3 Coupe as well.
Out of the bunch, only the M3 Coupe is powered by a large V8 engine.
The Focus ST uses a four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 252 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. Total package cost: $24,495. As many of you know, the M3 uses the iconic 4.0 liter V8 naturally-aspirated engine that outputs 414 ponies and 295 lb-ft of torque. But it comes with a significant higher, and expected, premium price of $62,295.
Let’s have a look and tell us what you think of this marketing gimmick.[Source: Autoblog]
