MINI’s latest addition to the hipster automobile family, the Coupe John Cooper Works, made an appearance at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. The model sports the usual aggressive body kit by JCW, along with a beautiful red roof that contrasts with the black paint.

The MINI Coupe JCW is powered by a 1.6 liter four-cylinder petrol engine with twin-scroll turbocharger and direct injection, plus numerous technological details carried over directly from motor sport. The engine outputs 155 kW/211 hp at 6,000 rpm, has maximum torque of 260 Nm/192 lb-ft at 1,850 – 5,600 rpm (280 Nm/207 lb-ft with Overboost at 1,700 – 4,500 rpm).

Acceleration from 0–100 km/h (62 mph) comes in 6.4 seconds, with a top speed of 240 km/h (149 mph).
