The 1 Series Coupe (E82) and Convertible (E88) went on sale in the United States in model year 2007 as the 128i and the 135i. Half way through their lifecycle, the two vehicles are due for the usual BMW facelift.
Ahead of its world premiere in December, a BMW 1 Series Coupe test mule has been spotted during a test session.
Changes to the Coupe and Convertible revolve around the headlights which get the LED technology treatment, but also the taillights featured the now usual LEDs. A more aerodynamic front bumper, and new exterior colors and interior trims are the newest addition to the popular 1er.
Newly sculpted air intakes are set lower to the ground, giving the front fascia a more aggressive look.
We expect the drivetrain to remain largely unchanged for the majority of the lineup. The top model in the 1 Series family will be the new 1 Series M Coupe which makes its world debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2011.
