What we learned today is that BMW are delaying Z4 press release due the sDrive trademark registration issues in US market. Our sources confirmed two weeks ago that the launch was scheduled for the first week in November and everyone, including us, got excited.Â
According to Eny from GCZ (connected with BMW), “the model designations has finally been officially registered this Tuesday (11/11) yet BMW AG are still waiting to obtain official letter (registration certificate) from USPTO, and then press release can be issued.”
So, in the mean time, what can be better than some new spy photos of the BMW Z4.Â

So far we have seen the 2009 BMW Z4 in the following colors: red, Space Gray, Deep Sea Blue, Cashmere Silver and today, black.
We’re getting close, the L.A Auto Show starts Wednesday and I assume BMW will release the official photos the day before.

Appears that the amber turn signals on the rv mirrors are a keeper…awkward and way out of proportion.
If they had to have them a thinner strip would have done the trick.
But, my goodness it looks great in Jet Black.
@Brookside:
You can thank EU transportation for the dumbo-earred mirrors. They require it, along with higher belt and hood lines on cars, to make it safer for pedestrians in the event they’re hit at an intersection.
In the words of Jeremy Clarkson ” Yes, thank you, that’s quite enough health and safety for me!”
But yeah, Z4 will look good!
Wow , more regulations, higher hood line? Perhaps we should all drive SUV’s so that we won’t injury people that step on the road
I wonder how much the price will be jacked up in America… 7K?
Who is going to buy this i want to know… i mean if they kept the price at the same level as before fine, but who is going to buy this with 2 seats, and pay 7K+ more for it because of the hardtop? Unless they put a serious engine in that thing, i’d rather get a Cayman S with the PDK transmission.

Tomorrow Tuesday 18th is The Day of official photos? Is Z4 going to be presented as a concept car in LA auto show or as the E89 Z4?
@NickGreece:
Horatiu is in LA – I think right now – for the debut of the Z4.
