Alpina unveils their full program for the new D4 Biturbo Coupe and Convertible.

Both models share the same drivetrain as the D3 models and they combine the sporting elegance of ALPINA B4 Coupe and Convertible with the powerful turbo diesel.

The 3.0 liter turbocharged diesel produces a whooping 350 horsepower, making it currently the most powerful diesel in the middle class. 700 Newton meters of torque come at 1500-3000 rev / min to ensure an extremely superior form of transportation.

ALPINA specifies a DIN curb weight of 1585 kg for D4 Biturbo Coupe which accelerates in 4.6 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. The 230 kg heavier ALPINA D4 Convertible needs four tenths more to achieve the same task. Top speeds for the two powerful diesels are 278 and 275 km/h, respectively.

Despite the high power output, the D4 Coupe and Convertible manage to deliver great fuel consumption: 5.3 to 5.9 liter in the EU cycle, which corresponds to 139 to 156 grams of CO2 per kilometer. Of course, the engine meets the requirements of the EU 6 emission standard.

Standard on both BMW ALPINA D4 variants are 19-inch alloy wheels, and the eight-speed Sport automatic Switch-Tronic, an adaptive sports suspension and xenon headlamps. The bases prices are 58,600 euros (Coupe) respectively 64,800 euros (convertible).

The design of the D4 Bi-Turbo Convertible is characterized by short overhangs, precise, long-drawn-shoulder lines, a wide rear and the characteristic metal folding roof. The sporty and purposeful design of the front spoiler is dictated by functional air intakes and operates in conjunction with the modest rear spoiler to improve stability at high speeds. When the roof is open the D4 Bi-Turbo Convertible stands out with its sleek, clean look.  The shape of the roof line when closed differs from the D4 Bi-Turbo Coupé significantly due to the steeper rake of the rear windscreen, the flat boot lid and subtle rear spoiler – this gives the Convertible a very distinctive and stand-alone appearance.

The Coupe is longer, wider and significantly lower than the sedan. Its profile rakes from an imposing, muscular front accentuated with bold lines to a clean and stylish rear. The front spoiler, with subtle ALPINA lettering, integrates seamlessly into the dynamic front apron which is characterised by large air intakes for the cooling system of the turbo-charged engine, the transmission and the high-performance fixed-calliper brake system. Together with the rear spoiler the Coupé’s aerodynamics are optimised for excellent high-speed stability while simultaneously maintaining a low drag coefficient. It is almost as if the low, elongated silhouette of the Coupé was shaped to complement the ALPINA Classic wheels. Their timeless, twenty spoke design with hidden air valves suit the D4 Bi-Turbo exceptionally well. Blue brake callipers with ALPINA lettering and signature twin tailpipes complete the appearance.
