BMW releases a teaser video of a car that will be unveiled on August 4th. Under the title “Revolution In The Street”, the teaser video seems to hint at a variant of the BMW i3.

The footage was shot through Munich Center, another indication that this could be a city car, or Megacity car as BMW used to call the i3.

Interesting is the fact that the car in the video sounds sportier than the full electric i3 and even more louder than the two-cylinder-powered i3 REx.

We believe that a variant of the BMW i3 with a more powerful gasoline engine is unlikely so we’re in the dark so far at what to expect.

What do you think? Is it a BMW i3? or at least to a different model, possibly even a new series?

Maybe it’s about the GoPro app integration b/c of the GoPro-typical camera perspectives. Albeit being not revolutionary at all..

Based on all the gear changing and rev matching it’s definitely not a pure electric. Let alone the noise.. perhaps the new co-developed car with Toyota, the rumored next gen Z4?

    m4 gran coupe,im sure

  9. CDspeed says:

It looks to be Andesite Silver Metallic, most likely an i car, plus the wheel looks very much like the i3’s do when in motion.

  10. Serge says:

    Hydrogen-fueled i3

  11. Tommolog says:

It’s definitely an i3 there. I’m thinking the sound is just some kind of marketing red herring.

100% i3 front wheel, just compared with my own. The fake video game like sound must be to confuse people but they wouldn’t have used something like that if it wasn’t for something sportier in my opinion. A more powerful i3 with more range to beat the recent Mercedes offering and get more of Tesla potential buyers ? I can’t wait to see but I hope I won’t regret getting one of the first i3…
